PETER CHELL

My name is Peter Chell. I grew up in Canon City, Colorado. My father was a pastor of a local church and continues to pastor today. I grew up in the church and developed a good amount of knowledge about the Bible and God. After High School, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps for a four year term. It was in the Marines that this knowledge of God began to grow into a relationship with our Lord and Saviour. After my time in the military, I decided to go to college. I attended Colorado Christian University and majored in Theology. I put my degree straight to use by going into Law Enforcement! I worked for Montrose Police Department for about two years and then went to work for Ouray County Sheriff's Office were I still work on part time basis. I went into Law Enforcement because I had a desire to help and serve others. While I was able to help and serve others in my Law Enforcement capacity, I still felt that I had a gifting for teaching. This is something that I have wanted to explore for a long time and when the opportunity to teach at Colorado West Christian School came about, I thought what better way to teach than to teach young people about our merciful Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus! I have done work with youth before and always enjoyed it. I am married to my wonderful wife Heather Chell who loves animals and works as a dog groomer at the Paw Spa! We do not currently have children but have three Schnauzers and two ferrets. It is truly a blessing to be able to teach at Colorado West and I am very grateful.
