JULIE APPELHANZ

Julie Appelhanz holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and Master of Music in Performance from Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. Julie also attended a post-secondary focus school for one year in Voss, Norway, studying Norwegian folk music and the Hardanger Fiddle.

Julie has performed with several professional orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the San Juan Symphony, Grand Junction Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, Fort Collins Symphony, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, the Denver String Quartet, and Telluride Strings. 

Julie has maintained a private teaching studio for over 25 years, offering lessons in both violin and viola, folk, pop, and classical styles, ages 4-80. She believes in gently building solid technique for her students and in leading them to explore how to express themselves through their instrument and discover joy in making music. She is very excited to have to opportunity to work with the CWCS orchestra program.
