Mrs. Morris was raised as the oldest of six children, along the Hudson River in Goshen, New York.  She attended St. Mary’s University, in San Antonio, Texas where she found a deep relationship with Jesus and was born again in September 1992.

Mary received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1997 and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Walden University in 2006.  Over the last 23 years, she has taught grades Kindergarten, 4th, and 5th grade in Houston, Texas; Delta, Colorado; and most recently here in Montrose County School District.  Mary has also served in administrative positions for 2 and a half years during her time in education.  She loves teaching students the beginning stages of reading and writing, and is looking forward to sharing her love for reading with the first graders at CWCS.

She and her husband, Keith, have been married for twenty years and have three children.  Their 20 year old son is a wildland firefighter here in Montrose.  Their daughters are 16 and 12 years old and attend school here in Montrose.
