ACT Testing

What is it, why does it matter, and how can you register?

At CWCS, we are committed to equipping students with the tools they need for success beyond high school. One important opportunity we provide is access to ACT testing for our high school students. By offering the ACT on campus, we help remove barriers and create a familiar, supportive environment where students can perform at their best.

WHAT IS THE ACT?

The ACT is a nationally recognized college entrance exam that measures a student’s
readiness for college-level work. It includes sections in English, Math, Reading, and
Science, with an optional Writing portion. Colleges and universities across the country use ACT scores as part of their admissions process.

WHY TAKING THE ACT MATTERS

1. College Admissions Opportunities

The ACT is a nationally recognized college entrance exam that measures a student’s readiness for college-level work. It includes sections in English, Math, Reading, and Science, with an optional Writing portion. Colleges and universities across the country use ACT scores as part of their admissions process.

2. Scholarship Potential

Many colleges, organizations, and state programs award scholarships based on ACT performance. A higher score can translate directly into financial aid opportunities, helping reduce the cost of college.

3. Academic Readiness and Growth

Preparing for the ACT encourages students to review and strengthen key academic skills. It also helps identify areas where additional growth may be beneficial before entering college.

4. Goal Setting and Motivation

The ACT gives students a measurable goal to work toward. Whether taking it once or multiple times, students can track improvement and build confidence through the process.

5. Superscoring Advantage

Another major benefit of taking the ACT is the option for “superscoring.” This means that across multiple test attempts, a student’s highest section scores can be combined to create the best possible composite score. This allows students to focus on improving individual sections over time, knowing that their strongest performance in each area can count toward the score sent to colleges.

6. Convenient and Familiar Testing Environment

By offering the ACT at CWCS, students benefit from testing in a comfortable setting with familiar faces. This can reduce anxiety and help students focus on doing their best.

OUR COMITTMENT

CWCS is dedicated to supporting students throughout the testing process—from preparation resources to test-day readiness. We believe that providing access to the ACT is one more way we prepare our students to pursue their future with confidence, excellence, and purpose.
